The foliage trees in Suzhou have started to take on a splash of colors lately. Up to 23 streets and roads with fallen leaves will be left unswept until December 20 so that residents and tourists can admire the beautiful autumn scenery, Suzhou urban management authorities announced yesterday.

Suzhou has designated deciduous landscape roads for 11 consecutive years to provide a better experience for visitors to take photos in autumn. This year’s “deciduous landscape roads” cover a wider variety of tree species, including ginkgo, white poplar, camphor, beech, and plane trees. Let’s take a look!

Linquan Street

Nanmen Road

Although the leaves have not been swept, they are not just scattered around and left in a mess, Suzhou environmental services explained. During the period of the “unswept autumn scenery”, local sanitation workers will carry out cleaning work as per a new schedule to ensure that there is no garbage mixed with the leaves. Please note that the fallen leaves will be cleared from the ground on rainy and snowy days, or in advance of road construction.

Besides the locations listed above, you can also explore more of the seasonal foliage scenery on the following deciduous landscape roads in Suzhou.
